Southern Ohio Computer Services was founded in 2000 by George Plymale, and it's still going strong. At the time, most people around Jackson were still dialing up to get online, and the idea of every business having its own server was still pretty new. George started by fixing computers for people in the community: diagnosing problems, replacing parts, getting machines back up and running. He brought more than 30 years of hands-on IT experience to every job from day one.
Over the years, the work grew as the technology grew. Businesses started building networks. Email became critical infrastructure. Servers got more complex. Remote work happened. Cloud services arrived. Security threats that didn't exist in 2000 became everyday concerns. We grew with all of it, and we've been here through every major shift.
Today, Southern Ohio Computer Services handles everything from a neighbor's slow laptop to full business IT infrastructure: networks, servers, cloud migrations, cybersecurity, managed services. Trusted by hundreds of homes and businesses across southern Ohio. We've been doing it in the same community for over 25 years, and we plan to keep doing it.
We're still locally owned. We still pick up the phone. We still come out and fix things in person. That hasn't changed, and it won't.

For businesses, we typically provide on-site service as needed and remote support for quick issues. Most of our managed IT clients rarely need an in-person visit because we handle most things remotely — but we're here when they do.

We think it's important to be straight with you about this. When we're not the right fit, we'll tell you and point you somewhere that is.
Phone repair is a different specialty, and the economics don't favor independent shops for most repairs. For iPhones, Apple's own service is usually your best option. For Android devices, the manufacturer or a dedicated phone repair shop will serve you better than we will. We'll tell you where to go.
We're not a computer store. We don't stock shelves with laptops or desktops for you to browse. What we do instead is build custom machines to your exact specifications, or help you identify the right computer for your needs. You get exactly what you need, nothing more.
We take time to diagnose properly, use quality parts, and make sure the fix actually works. Our pricing reflects real expertise and real results.
If you bought a computer at a big-box store, its warranty is with the retailer or manufacturer — not with us. We don't repair under third-party warranties or act as a service center for retail equipment. For out-of-warranty work, we're happy to help. For warranty claims, go back to where you bought it.
